Mark Hagopian, age 57, was born in Fowler, CA on July 21, 1959, and passed away at his home on December 28, 2016. Mark graduated from Caruthers High School in 1977, and made the valley his home for his entire life, farming for 39 years and becoming a fixture at local race tracks as a successful micro sprint racer, entrepreneur, and mentor. Known as ‘Mac- Gyver’ to many, Mark used his prowess and entrepreneurialism to found and nurture his own company, Hagopian Engineering, which later evolved into Driven Performance, owned and operated by his son Jake. Mark was well known in the racing community, not only for his on the track accomplishments but his acumen and friendships with drivers across the country and globe. Earlier this year, he was recognized for his skill and inducted in the Lemoore Raceway Hall of Fame. Always quick with a story and good for a laugh, Mark’s friends and family will remember him for his work ethic, sense of humor, and ability to connect with those around him. Mark was integral in the initiation of the Junior Sprint class at Plaza Park Raceway, now named Keller Auto Raceway at Plaza Park. He loved racing and loved big, exciting events. Mark would be proud of what his son Jake has done with this 1st annual memorial race.

Jake has become a fixture in the winners circle at Keller Auto Raceway in the Super 600 class. Jake carries on this fathers work ethic. He pounded the pavement tirelessly to drum up sponsorship for this race. His goal was to put on the kind of show his father would’ve put on, and we believe he has all the pieces in place to make this truly a race to remember

There will be some fun nuances throughout the event that Mark will surely be smiling down on! Be ready for anything because you just don’t know what you may miss if you aren’t prepared!

Come out this weekend and honor a tremendous race fan in the way he would want to be honored!

Grab a cold beer, some great track food, and sit back and cheer on the boys and girls, men and women as they slice and dice around the 1/5 mile clay oval!

It will be EXCITING!!!
